Find out if your baker refrigerates or freezes their cakes. Most bakeries do. When you go to a taste test, make sure you are trying the refrigerated or frozen version of their cake. It can be a great disappointment on your big day when the cake turns out to be dry.

For your wedding cake consultation, the bride and a friend should go. Sometimes that may be the parent that is paying for the cake or someone who is in the bridal party. My favorite is always the groom because this is one aspect of the wedding planning that he can relate to! I have had the bride and groom (2), both sets of parents(6),both sets of grand parents (10) and 3 bride’s maids (13 total). Not only was there barely enough room, but every time the bride was asked what she thought, there were at least 10 other opinions that felt they needed to be heard. She ended up coming back, with her maid of honor, and we went over everything from the beginning. If you have many people who would like a say, see if you can get a sample cake to go from the baker, to share around the kitchen table, for later.

Hi Susan, The cake was absolutely fantastic!!! I had several pieces as that was pretty much the one thing I found time to eat.I have to tell you everyone RAVED about the cupcakes - they made the night that much better.
