Fisherman cake

This cake I made for a 70th birthday party for someone who was an avid fisherman. Short on time? I took a  plastic Wilton fisherman that I got at a party store and embellished him. Using fondant, I made the fishing vest, covered the boat, covered his hat and made the fish. I made little hooks out of wire and stuck them in the hat. I then made a fishnet out of wire and crinoline. The water was made with piping gel. I first covered the top of the cake with blue frosting and then put a thin coat of the gel down. (You don’t want to use a lot of this because it doesn’t taste great.)

This cake went to the MS Mount Washington boat in Wiers beach. The bride loved the idea of spirals and dots and the fondant ribbon matched her wedding colors perfectly!

purple-cake.jpg

This cake went to a purple-loving bride! She started out wanting a wedding cake that had a castle on the top and a carriage with horses at the base. Somewhere along the lines, the groom found a bride and groom topper that had bobble-heads and the cake change over to purple blossoms for her and the bobble heads for him!

I love this location. It has it all. The views, a wonderful ballroom, place for your guests to stay and relax……The Bride went with creams, whites and golds. Each cupcake had a white flower on it with a fondant leaf painted with  edible gold leaf. Very classy!

This was at Mill Falls/Chase house. It was for 90 people and Kelly’s colors were teal and brown. They wanted something eclectic and unique. Missing from the picture was the topper that was put on the top cake  and was bride and groom kangaroos that the sister of the bride had brought back from Australia.

This was at the Common Man Inn in Plymouth and served 130. She had a hot pink and black color combination. Each cupcake had a royal icing flower on it for decoration.

This was something I did for a Mother’s Day table on the MS Mount Washington. Their colors were lilac and I went with a butterfly theme.
