Kathleen and I were wondering why the flowers were omitted from the bottom layer? The contract did refer to fondant flowers and leaves similar to the picture…

Joan,I am so pleased you liked the cake.The flowers and leaves, when put on the cake, looked out of place and ruined the look of the upper tiers/the birch work on the pillars. I went back and forth with the wider, gold ribbon and the smaller ribbon with more floral detail and due to the size of the cake, the narrow ribbon looked better. Remember, the cake in the picture was for almost 300 people and so it was much larger than yours. I hope your disappointment wasn’t too great and I appreciate the chance to go over my artistic decision with you.

Sue- thanks for your response.. your  reply was as I thought, no problem.  I felt comfortable with your artistic decisions from the get go.. great job! Thanks again for everything, your a doll and I loved working with you..You definitely have an art for decorating cakes, for sure.
